Job summary

Slingsby Partners is seeking a Trainee Patent Attorney with a strong academic background across electronics, computer science, engineering, physics, materials science, or chemistry. You will work closely with partners and clients from day one.

The role covers patent drafting and prosecution and advice on patent procurement and exploitation, with in-house tutorials and path toward UK/EU chartered status.

Qualifications

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Willing to train toward European/UK chartered patent attorney qualification.

All of our partners and associates are involved in training and from day one you will be working on a wide range of IP matters directly with our clients. As our practice is focused on providing patent advice to predominantly UK and European technology companies, you can expect to quickly gain experience in all areas of the patent profession including patent drafting and prosecution as well as advice relating to patent procurement and exploitation.

We take an active interest in our trainees’ progress towards qualification as European and UK chartered patent attorneys. The breadth of the firm’s work means your day-to-day training will be directly relevant to the professional exams you will need to undertake.
