Trainee Paralegal – Court of ProtectionLocation: Horncastle, LincolnshireSalary: £24,650Hours: Full time, Monday–Friday, 9am–5.15pm (36.25 hours per week)An established and well-regarded law firm is seeking a Trainee Paralegal to join its Court of Protection team in Horncastle. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to begin or develop their legal career in a supportive and professional environment.The RoleThis is a fee-earning role, providing assistance on a wide range of Court of Protection matters. Responsibilities will include:
  • Opening client files and handling initial enquiries
  • Preparing deputyship applications
  • Drafting and sending routine correspondence
  • Visiting clients and liaising with deputies, attorneys, or representatives
  • Maintaining accurate schedules, spreadsheets, and financial records
  • Liaising with care homes and family members
  • Inputting data such as bank statements and ensuring records remain up to date
  • Assisting with annual reports and updating registers
Some travel will be required, so a full driving licence and access to a vehicle with business insurance is essential.About YouThe ideal candidate will have:
  • A degree in Law or substantial relevant experience in a legal setting (training provided)
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to work to tight deadlines
  • A proactive, professional, and compassionate approach
  • Good IT skills and attention to detail
