We have an exciting opportunity for a Trainee Paralegal to join our growing Corporate & Commercial team. This is a key role in our Corporate & Commercial team to support the existing Paralegal and assist with administrative tasks and gradually learn the role to become a Corporate Paralegal.

THE ROLE

You will join an established team of 7 and provide the solicitors with administrative support whilst building up experience and training to support the corporate fee earners in the team with paralegal aspects of corporate transactional and company secretarial work. This is a great opportunity for someone looking for progression within an administrative role with the ability over time to progress into a fee earning role with the full support, training and supervision from the wider team. Please note we are not looking for a graduate who is keen to become a Solicitor.

THE DAY TO DAY
  • To assist the team by working alongside the team’s existing corporate paralegal to deliver support to the solicitors in the team and clients on corporate transactions and company secretarial matters.
  • Corporate transactional work will include over time – arranging meetings, client engagement and management, information gathering from clients and external/internal sources, running and managing data rooms, DocuSign and preparing documents for signing, ancillary documents production, and management, company secretarial support and completion and post completion support.
  • Company secretarial work will include over time - Companies House filings, liaising with HMRC in respect of stamp duty payable on shares, updating company statutory registers, and bespoke client services to be developed over time such as a registered address service and company restorations.
  • In addition to the above the work will also include over time offering a wider company incorporation and company secretarial support service across the firm.
  • General team admin tasks will include liaising with business support, the accounts department and the wider secretarial team to implement tasks such as billing, payment requests and transfers, verifying bank details, matter opening and closing, case management system admin and file management, conflict checks, document formatting and production, printing, scanning, assisting with ID checks and source of funds checks, creating and maintaining spreadsheets and other team information, typing up attendance notes and such other admin tasks as required from time to time.
  • Bespoke work requests from the team and to support as needed on matters or otherwise.
  • Diary and email management support for the Corporate Partner to assist with internal projects and emails to make sure these are progressed in required timescales, input is obtained as needed by others in the firm, chasing others and booking in client and external events and meetings where multiple people are required to attend.
  • Help with new enquiries and monitoring the team's inbox for this.
WHAT EXPERIENCE DO I NEED?

To be successful in this role you should have experience in administration duties ideally within a Legal team.
