Overview

Job Title: Trainee Mortgage Adviser

Following ongoing success, several Trainee Mortgage Advisers have progressed to full-time home-based Mortgage Advisers. We are seeking the next intake of candidates to become a fully CeMAP qualified Mortgage and Protection Adviser in a role offering a long-term career in Financial Services. This opportunity is with the UK’s leading new homes mortgage provider as a Trainee Mortgage Adviser.

Location: Based full time at our offices in Wakefield WF2 0XG. After training and achieving CeMAP qualifications, you will be promoted to a full-time home-based Mortgage and Protection Adviser.

Daily Commute: You must have your own vehicle to commute to our offices as required, or live locally with access to reliable public transport.

Target: Candidates with a strong desire to work in Financial Services, with a proven track record in customer service and/or sales.

Year One Rewards: During the first 12 months, you will receive a salary guarantee of £30,000 (basic salary £25,500 plus guaranteed commission £4,500). A bonus top-up is available if targets are exceeded, and overtime is regularly available to increase earnings.

After 12 Months: Upon successful completion of the initial period, basic salary increases to £27,500 plus commission and bonus, with an OTE of £40K–£45K.

CeMAP Support: We provide full financial support to gain CeMAP Mortgage Adviser qualifications, including study materials and all exam entry costs.

Working Hours: Rotating rota, including early and late starts, working every other weekend.

Your role will be based in the office as the first point of contact for our customers. You will help manage customer impressions, make and receive calls referring to our national house-builder clients, record details as part of mortgage applications, partially complete a fact find, research lender affordability and criteria, and arrange appointments with a specialist Mortgage Adviser.

  • A strong track record in customer service and sales.
  • Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills with outstanding communication and listening abilities; able to explain complex information clearly.
  • Organised, disciplined and structured in approach.
  • Highly competent IT user, including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
