Job summary

CBSbutler is seeking a Trainee Medical Field Service Engineer to support a range of medical and electromechanical equipment across Central and Greater London. You will receive full product and technical training and operate in hospital environments.

The role is field-based, with regular travel to London hospitals, and offers a base salary up to £30,000, a £2,000 annual bonus, a £5 daily lunch allowance, a company vehicle and a benefits package. Training and long-term development are provided.

Qualifications

• A school/college leaver with level 2 qualifications (GCSE's) and hands‑on experience.
• An apprentice or junior engineer looking to take the next step.
• A technician with experience in electrical, mechanical or electromechanical equipment.
• An experienced field service engineer looking to move into the medical device sector.

Responsibilities

• Installing, servicing and maintaining medical and electromechanical equipment.
• Carrying out planned preventative maintenance and routine safety and performance checks.
• Supporting electrical, mechanical and electromechanical fault‑finding.
• Completing straightforward repairs and component replacements following training.
• Assisting experienced engineers with installations and more complex technical work.
• Ensuring equipment is safe, operational and ready for clinical use.
• Building professional relationships with customers and clinical teams.
• Completing accurate service reports and digital records.
• Managing tools, spare parts and test equipment.
• Escalating more complex or unfamiliar faults appropriately.
