Job summary

Lift Schools invites aspiring Maths teachers to join an ITT Apprenticeship route delivering practical classroom experience with strong mentorship. You will train toward a PGCE and QTS, earning while you learn through a school-based programme in partnership with Ark Teacher Training.

Eligibility includes a 2:2 degree (Maths/STEM preferred), GCSEs in English and Maths, and the right to work in the UK for the training year.

Qualifications

• Must have degree with 2:2 or better; Maths/ STEM preferred.
• GCSE English and Maths at grade 4/C or higher.
• Able to work legally in UK for the duration of the programme.
• Must not currently hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).

Responsibilities

• Gain practical classroom experience during ITT.
• Receive weekly feedback from a mentor and in‑school coach.
• Participate in two‑week Summer School and targeted training sessions.
• Progress with in‑school support toward PGCE and QTS.
• Engage with Ark Teacher Training and Lift Schools networks.

Eligibility requirementsTo be eligible for our Maths Teacher Training, applicants must meet the following criteria:

• -Degree: An undergraduate degree with a 2:2 classification or above (or equivalent) by the start of the programme. A degree in Maths, STEM, (or a related field) is preferred. Alternatively, a strong A-Level in Maths (Grade C or above) will be considered.
• -GCSEs: Grade 4 (C) or above in GCSE English & Mathematics (or equivalent).
• -Status: Right to live and work in the UK for the duration of the training year.
• -Teaching status: Must not currently hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
• -SEND experience: This programme requires a minimum of 3 months experience within SEN (Special Educational Needs)
