Gi Group UK is recruiting a Trainee Machine Operator to join a building supplies manufacturer in Aldridge. The role supports day-to-day production, with full training provided to enable long-term career development.

The position offers 12-hour day shifts (6am-6pm) on a 4-on/4-off pattern, paid at 11.5 hours per shift, with a path to a permanent contract for the right candidate.

Job Advert: Trainee Machine Operator (Building Supplies) - Aldridge Walsall WS9

Shift pattern: 4 on / 4 off Hours: 6:00am-6:00pm (12-hour shifts)

Paid hours: 11.5 hours per shift

Contract: Long-term ongoing work with a view to a permanent contract for the right candidate

We're recruiting a Trainee Machine Operator to join a well-established manufacturer producing building supply products in Aldridge. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to build a long-term career in manufacturing-full training provided.

Pay Rates

• 13.50 per hour
• once permanent 37,000 per annum

The Role

As a Trainee Machine Operator, you'll support the day-to-day running of production machinery and ensure products meet quality standards. Key duties include:

• Monitoring machines during operation and reporting any issues
• Completing quality checks on finished products and recording results
• Using a computer to input data, complete basic production paperwork, and follow work instructions
• Keeping your work area clean, safe, and organised.
• Working as part of a team to meet production targets safely and consistently
• Machine Maintenance

What We're Looking For

• Able to work 12-hour day shifts (6am-6pm), 4 on / 4 off reliably
• Physically fit and comfortable standing for the full shift
• Confident using a computer (basic systems/data entry)
• Strong attention to detail, especially for quality checking and monitoring machine performance
• A positive attitude and willingness to learn (previous manufacturing experience is helpful but not essential)
