Job description

We have an exciting opportunity for a registered healthcare professional seeking a new challenge or change in direction. We are looking for a motivated and caring individual with a passion for patient-centred care to join our specialist team as a Trainee Lymphedema Practitioner. Progressing to Band 6 after successful completion of a 12-month training program.

Main duties of the job

Working under the guidance of experienced specialists, you will assess, support, and manage patients with or at risk of lymphoedema. You will develop key skills for autonomous practice across inpatient, outpatient, and community settings.

Job responsibilities

TRAINEE LYMPHOEDEMA PRACTITIONER | Band 5 | £29,970 - £36,483 per annum (pro-rata)

Progressing to Band 6 after completing the 12-month training.

  • Assess, support, and manage patients with or at risk of lymphoedema.
  • Complete accredited lymphoedema training and gain competence in management techniques such as SLD, MLD, bandaging, and compression therapy.
  • Support patients through tailored care plans, group therapy, and 1:1 support.
  • Educate healthcare professionals and carers.
  • Contribute to service development, audit, and innovation.
  • Participate in team meetings, community visits, and education programs.
Hours of work

This is a part-time role working 22.5 hours per week, based at Dorothy House Hospice in Winsley and in the community.

Qualifications
  • Registered Healthcare Professional (HCPC/NMC)
  • Full UK driving license and access to a vehicle
  • Experience in lymphoedema management
  • Experience in tissue viability and palliative care
  • Experience working in the community
  • Knowledge of clinical innovation relevant to the role
