Job Description:

This is your opportunity to start an exciting career in livestock procurement at one of the UK's leading meat producers.

As a Livestock Buyer, your role will focus on procuring a set number of cattle and sheep required by the abattoir each week.

You will need to be an effective communicator, capable of building relationships with suppliers and negotiating livestock purchases. Additionally, being driven, well-organized, and able to meet strict procurement quotas is essential.

Requirements include commercial beef/sheep farming experience. Full training and support will be provided.

The role:
  • Build and maintain relationships with farmers and suppliers
  • Negotiate purchase prices
  • Ensure a consistent supply of cattle in line with procurement targets
  • Ensure livestock deliveries are on schedule
  • Work 3-4 days per week in the office
  • Work 1-2 days per week in the field
About you:
  • Excellent understanding of beef/sheep production
  • Organized and able to work under pressure
  • UK driving license
