Job summary

InHealth Group is seeking a trainee health screener to support the diabetic eye screening service across Bristol area clinics. You will put patients at ease, run safety checks and take photographs of the back of the eye after dilating drops, while spotting urgent referrals.

This on-the-job training leads to a Health Screener Diploma. The role offers full-time hours or a four‑day pattern with occasional evenings and weekends, requires a full driving licence and access to a car to travel between

Qualifications

• Willing to travel to clinics across Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire.
• Ability to take detailed close-up eye photographs and remain composed.
• Willing to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Put patients at ease throughout the screening process.
• Complete the screening checklist to maintain a safe environment.
• Administer dilating drops and take photographs with correct field of view.
• Identify patients needing urgent onward referral at their appointment.
• Carry out basic maintenance of the camera and equipment.
• Keep consumables stocked to run the clinic.

Job description

This is a trainee health screener post in InHealth Group's diabetic eye screening service, covering its clinics across the Bristol area. What sets it apart is on-the-job training towards a Health Screener Diploma, with full-time hours or a reduced four-day pattern and occasional evening and weekend work.
