Job summary

Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust seeks a Doctorate-qualified Forensic Psychologist to support the Resettle & Reintegrate service. The post involves high-risk offenders with complex personality needs, delivering specialist therapies and conducting thorough assessments.

You will work within a multi-disciplinary team to develop evidence-based interventions, lead research, and provide training to staff on best practices in managing violent and sexual offending behaviours.

Qualifications

• Experience conducting offending related therapy and assessments.
• Ability to work in multi-agency MDTs to manage risk and address psychological needs.
• Experience providing complex psychological services to high-risk individuals.

Responsibilities

• Assist service lead in conducting offending related therapies and assessments.
• Develop, deliver and evaluate evidence-based interventions for high-risk individuals.
• Lead and contribute to research projects and evaluate treatment effectiveness.
• Provide complex psychological assessments using diverse data sources.
• Formulate plans for intervention and management of offending behaviour.
• Deliver psychological intervention as directed by the violence treatment lead.
• Provide consultation to MDTs on psychological management of offending needs.
• Deliver staff training on management of violent offending.
