About the role

This is a training role within the Trust's financial accounts function. Therefore the purpose of the role is to assist in a number of aspects of the finance function's work. Key to these will be ensuring that the Trust provides an efficient effective financial services function. This will include:

  • Ensuring that suppliers of goods and services to the Trust are paid within current payment terms and that queries are resolved on a timely basis.
  • Work closely with SBS colleagues to ensure a synchronised seamless service.
  • Planning the workload across the monthly finance cycle to ensure peaks and troughs are managed appropriately.
  • Focusing on non‑routine work specifically dealing with and resolving items that do not simply pass through.
  • Completing the Level 3 Assistant Accountant Apprentice over 18 months under supervision.
  • Payment of supplier invoices both purchase order and non‑purchase order.
  • All accounts payable queries both internal and external.
  • Working closely alongside Shared Business Services.
  • Maintaining and updating all of the Oracle users on the system.
