Parker Meggitt in Fareham is seeking a Trainee Welder to join their precision manufacturing team. The role involves Electron Beam Welding (EBW) on small capsule components, often under magnification, with full training provided to develop a specialist aerospace welding career.

You will read and interpret technical drawings, operate specialist welding equipment, and maintain accuracy through inspection and documentation. Full-time hours with a twilight shift and day training offered.

Qualifications

• Mechanical assembly experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work with small precision components.

Responsibilities

• Operate Electron Beam Welding (EBW) equipment safely and efficiently.
• Weld precision components and assemblies to required quality standards.
• Inspect welded components and complete relevant quality documentation.
• Interpret technical drawings and manufacturing instructions.
• Build mechanical assemblies and sub-assemblies in line with procedures.
• Conduct basic testing activities and maintain production information systems.
