Job Description

The hourly rate for this role is £12.60 and up to £14.13 across selected locations within London. The hourly rate will increase after 6 months in role. No previous experience is required, and full training will be provided.

About the opportunity

As a Trainee Dispenser working within one of our stores, you will be a key member of our pharmacy team, supporting the pharmacist and other healthcare professionals to ensure the safe and efficient delivery of pharmacy and healthcare services.

You will spend your time building great relationships with patients, dispensing prescriptions, ensuring safe sale of medicines, and providing advice to support patients in making informed health decisions.

This role is based in-store within the UK. Remote applicants will not be considered. Applicants outside the UK will not be processed unless a UK right to work is confirmed.

Key responsibilities
  • Complete your training for the Pharmacy Advisor NVQ2 programme.
  • Prescription dispensing while ensuring safe supply of medicines (ordering, labelling, dispensing, endorsing and collecting prescriptions).
  • Work with other healthcare professionals to assist in the management and delivery of pharmacy services.
  • Provide care and advice about medicines and refer queries to the Pharmacist as appropriate.
  • Follow Standard Operating Procedures to support safe and legal dispensing.
  • Keep up to date with new innovations in store and comply with operational processes.
  • Support patients to manage prescriptions and medicines effectively to promote adherence and reduce waste.

You will have the opportunity to work with evolving technologies, new systems, and develop traditional dispensing processes to improve patient safety.

Regular updates and training will develop your healthcare knowledge. There are career development options, including training as a Pharmacy Technician or joining the store leadership team.

What you’ll need to have
  • Desire to learn and complete the Dispenser training programme (NVQ2).
  • Current and valid UK right to work. This role is not eligible for sponsorship for a Skilled Worker Visa.
It would be great if you also have
  • Experience working in community pharmacy.
