Job summary

The Staines Centre of Dental Excellence, part of Envisage Dental Group, is seeking a Trainee Dental Nurse with a focus on decontamination support. This 24-hour-per-week, part-time role offers practical training to develop clinical skills in a modern, specialist practice near the Middlesex–Surrey border.

You will join a friendly, supportive team and contribute to infection control, instrument processing and patient-facing care while you work toward a career in dental nursing.

Responsibilities

• Support the decontamination process and infection prevention standards.
• Clean, sterilise and store dental instruments and equipment.
• Keep the decontamination area clean, organised and stocked.
• Prepare equipment and materials for clinical sessions and assist with chairside duties as training progresses.
• Welcome and reassure patients and support the wider clinical team.

The Staines Centre of Dental Excellence is looking for an enthusiastic and reliable Trainee Dental Nurse to join our experienced team.

Working Hours

24 hours per week, with flexibility around how these hours are worked across the week. We are happy to discuss the working pattern with the successful candidate, taking into consideration their availability and the needs of the practice.

ABOUT US

The Staines Centre of Dental Excellence is a state-of-the-art, predominantly private practice located in Staines-upon-Thames, ideally situated on the Middlesex–Surrey border and just a short walk from Staines mainline station. Our modern 5-surgery practice is home to an experienced team providing a wide range of treatments, from general dentistry and hygiene services through to advanced treatments including dental implants, orthodontics, cosmetic dentistry, oral surgery and sedation for nervous patients. THE ROLE

As a Trainee Dental Nurse, you will play an important role in supporting the clinical team and helping to ensure the practice maintains excellent standards of cleanliness, infection prevention and decontamination. A key part of the role will be supporting the decontamination area, ensuring instruments are cleaned, sterilised and stored correctly in line with practice procedures and infection control requirements. As you develop your skills and knowledge, you will also have the opportunity to gain experience supporting clinicians and patients within the surgeries.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Supporting the decontamination process and maintaining high standards of infection prevention and control.
• Cleaning, sterilising and storing dental instruments and equipment.
• Ensuring the decontamination area is clean, organised and well stocked.
• Preparing equipment and materials for clinical sessions.
• Supporting the Dental Nurses and wider clinical team.
• Assisting with the smooth running of the surgeries.
• Supporting clinicians with chairside duties as your training and experience develops.
• Welcoming and reassuring patients when required.
• Maintaining a clean, safe and professional clinical environment.
• Following practice policies, procedures and infection control guidelines.
• Working towards developing the knowledge and skills required to progress within dental nursing.
