Trainee CNC Operator - Night Shift (Permanent, 4-Day Week)

Location: Leicester

Starting Pay Rate: £13.00 - £15.00 per hour (depending on experience)

Hours: Monday to Thursday, 8:00pm - 6:00am (4-day working week)

Start Date: Immediate

Contract Type: Permanent, Full-Time

About the Role

Have you completed CNC or engineering training but haven't had the opportunity to put your skills into practice yet? We're offering an excellent opportunity for a motivated Trainee CNC Operator to join our established night shift team in Leicester. This role is ideal for someone with an engineering or machining background, or someone who has studied CNC at college or completed a relevant course and is ready to take the next step into a hands‑on, long‑term role in manufacturing. You'll work alongside experienced CNC Operators who will provide full training and mentoring, helping you progress into a skilled CNC Machinist position.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in operating CNC milling or turning machines
• Learn how to set, load, and run CNC machines safely and efficiently
• Carry out basic quality checks using measuring tools
• Read and interpret simple engineering drawings (training provided where needed)
• Maintain a clean and safe work area
• Follow all health and safety procedures

What We're Looking For

• Some experience or a qualification in engineering, machining, or CNC operation
• Ideal for candidates who have completed a CNC or engineering course but have limited practical experience
• Understanding of working with metal or mechanical components is beneficial
• A positive attitude, strong attention to detail, and a genuine interest in developing CNC skills
• Reliable, enthusiastic, and willing to learn on the night shift
