Job summary

Warburtons is seeking a Trainee Class 2 Driver for their Newton Abbot operation. You will start with a 6-week intensive driver training course, funded by the company, to gain your Class 2 Licence, with Driver CPC training during working hours.

Shifts begin around 04:00, with a 43-hour week on a rotating 5 over 7 rota, including weekends. You will load your vehicle, pick orders, and deliver to multiple customers while maintaining service levels and brand representation.

Qualifications

• Full UK Driving Licence with no more than 6 points.
• Willingness to train for Class 2 licence, with training and costs covered by the employer.
• Reliability, responsibility, and customer focus are essential in a fast-paced delivery environment.
• Ideally have multi-drop or home delivery experience and previous order picking experience.

Title: Trainee Class 2 Driver

Location: Newton Abbot

Shifts: 43 hours per week, 5 over 7 rota

Salary: £602.01 per week (rising to £783.69 per week upon completion and move into Class 2 position)

Do you have your class B car licencewith the desire to further your career and gain your Class 2 licence, with all of the costs of your training and licence taken care of?

To join the Warburtons family, you’ll need a full current UK Driving Licence with no more than 6 points. You’ll also have a good knowledge of transport legislation, be reliable, responsible, customer focused and used to working in a fast paced environment, ideally with multi drop or home delivery experience and ideally previous experience of picking orders.

The Recipe

• Be supported by the driver training teams in an intensive 6 week training course, to gain your Class 2 Licence, with no cost to you.
• Ongoing fully funded Driver CPC (Your Driver CPC training is in work hours too, not outside of them)
• You’ll be an early riser—shifts start around 04:00 (some patterns may vary). The upside? Never miss the 3pm school run again.
• You’ll enjoy plenty of autonomy. You’ll be given delivery notes (or an electronic device), from which you’ll accurately pick the orders either at the depot or on the move and load your own vehicle with our baked goods
• To help keep your day smooth and safe, knowledge of basic vehicle maintenance and transport legislation will be included
• Once your route for the day is loaded into your onboard computer, you’re off!
• You’ll deliver to multiple customers daily (they’re like family to us), so top-notch service, strong relationships, and professionalism are a must. This includes being able to manage difficult conversations in a calm manner and acting as an ambassador for our brand.
• You’ll work a defined rotating 5 over 7 rota, including weekends. That’s 43 hours a week! All of which will hopefully help you to plan your life around work more easily.
