Overview

We are looking for enthusiastic and confident Trainee Careers Advisers to help us deliver our advice and guidance services to young people and adults in the Manchester area.

If you’re enthusiastic about creating a society where everyone reaches their potential then this is the ideal role for you.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver careers advice and guidance to young people and adults in schools, prisons, probation centres and community settings.
  • Provide one‑to‑one and group support, including aspirational and motivational work.
  • Shadow team members and complete a structured training programme, progressing through different client groups within Manchester.
  • Travel to various sites across Manchester, with travel expenses reimbursed for any travel beyond your base of work.
  • Support young people who have disengaged from learning and help them to progress into education, training or employment pathways.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Experience helping people to progress or supporting people in social care settings (a university degree is not required).
  • Empathy, a non‑judgemental attitude and a genuine desire to help others.
  • Self‑motivated with a strong initiative and willingness to learn.
  • Ready to undertake the Level 6 Careers Adviser professional qualification (approx. 18 months) – the tuition is fully funded by us.
  • Ability to travel between sites within Manchester and commitment to the flexible working patterns required.
Training & Salary

Career Connect will fund your Level 6 Careers Adviser professional qualification (worth £3,045) through our accredited Training Centre. After completing the qualification, you will progress through the salary grades and earn over £30k as a fully qualified Careers Adviser.
