Overview

Trainee Bus Driver - Cheltenham

Your new career starts here at Stagecoach, no experience needed. We offer fully paid training to help you gain your PCV licence, with a structured path to become a qualified bus driver.

Salary

Typical annualised earnings of £29,780. Hourly rate of £14.50. Pay during training is £14.50 per hour (training lasting 6–8 weeks). After training, annual earnings based on 39 hours per week as a qualified Bus Driver.

Location

Based at our Cheltenham depot, located at Gloucester Road, Cheltenham, GL51 8PL.

What you’ll be doing
  • Completing our industry-leading training, securing your PCV licence followed by ongoing CPC training and professional development
  • Driving our fleet safely, smoothly and with confidence
  • Delivering excellent passenger experience and ensuring every passenger has a great journey
  • Providing top-notch customer service to people of all ages and backgrounds
  • Creating a welcoming environment where customers feel respected, cared for, and looked after, especially those who rely on us most
  • Working flexible shifts, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends
What you need to apply
  • You need to be 18 years old and hold a driving licence with no more than 6 penalty points
  • Right to work in the UK (DVLA requirement: been in the UK for a minimum of 183 days)
  • A patient, safe and courteous approach to driving
  • A positive attitude, passion for delivering great customer service, and willingness to learn
  • A willingness to be part of a brilliant team
  • Recruitment process: short application (around 3–4 minutes) followed by an interview assessing experience and behaviours
