Job Summary
JigsawPlus specialist day centre for autistic adults is offering a graduate role for individuals with a bachelor's degree in psychology, social care, or an allied profession. The role, also known as a Learning Support Worker, provides behaviourally based support, care, and teaching to autistic adults while working towards accredited qualifications in behaviour analysis.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide behaviourally based support, care and teaching to autistic adults.
- Plan, prepare, and deliver activities that support learners’ decision‑making and promote choice and involvement.
- Support learners’ participation in social, leisure and educational activities, and facilitate access to work experience and employment opportunities.
- Collate, record, and analyse data to monitor learning progress and ensure support is effective.
- Participate in training that enables graduates to achieve relevant qualifications, experience, and supervision.
- Ensure learners’ individual needs are met through effective personal care, encouraging acceptable levels of hygiene.

Requirements
- Interest in progressing a career in social care and behaviour analysis with a desire to undertake further training.
- Willingness to learn more about autism and how best to support adult learners.
- Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social care, or an allied field.
- Interest in special educational needs and autism, with a passion for helping others learn and develop.
- Professional, personal, or voluntary experience working with adults or young people with disabilities.
- Capability to keep accurate records and reports to track learner progress.
- Positive, patient, caring, can‑do attitude and ability to stay calm in high‑pressure situations.
- Interpersonal skills to work as part of a team and build relationships with learners, parents, and staff.
- Comfortable working with adults who exhibit challenging behaviour and supporting personal/intimate care when required.
