Bradley Environmental Consultants Limited, powered by Vadella, is seeking a trainee asbestos surveyor in Maidstone with hybrid work. You'll support our surveying team across UK sites while training towards BOHS qualifications.

This field-based role offers hands-on experience delivering Management, Refurbishment and Demolition surveys, learning air monitoring and four-stage clearance under HSG guidelines, with full training provided.

Qualifications

• No prior asbestos experience required – full training provided.
• Willingness to work towards BOHS P402, P403 and P404 qualifications.
• Interest in building compliance, health and safety or environmental services.
• Desire to learn HSG248 and HSG264.
• Excellent communication and report writing skills.
• Great attention to detail.
• Ability to work in a team and take direction from experienced colleagues.
• Good IT skills; Microsoft Teams is beneficial.
• Flexible approach to working hours.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Willingness to undergo an Enhanced DBS check (paid for by the company).

Responsibilities

• Assist experienced surveyors with Management, Refurbishment and Demolition Asbestos Surveys per HSG264.
• Support asbestos reinspection surveys and audits.
• Learn asbestos air monitoring, four-stage clearance and analytical procedures per HSG248.
• Shadow supervision of licensed asbestos removal projects.
• Assist in producing accurate survey reports and technical documentation.
• Develop technical knowledge to provide expert advice to clients over time.
• Maintain high standards of health, safety and professionalism.
• Represent Bradley Environmental Consultants to clients on site.

About the role

Working across a diverse range of commercial, industrial, healthcare, education and public sector sites, you’ll support our experienced surveying team in delivering professional asbestos surveying services, in line with current legislation and industry best practice, while working towards your BOHS qualifications.

This is a varied, field-based position where no two days are the same. You’ll work closely alongside experienced surveyors as part of a knowledgeable technical team, gaining hands‑on experience delivering high-quality services to clients across the UK.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Assisting experienced surveyors with Management, Refurbishment and Demolition Asbestos Surveys in accordance with HSG264.
• Supporting asbestos reinspection surveys and audits.
• Learning asbestos air monitoring, four-stage clearance and analytical procedures in accordance with HSG248.
• Shadowing supervision of licensed asbestos removal projects.
• Assisting with the production of accurate survey reports and technical documentation.
• Developing your technical knowledge to provide professional advice and consultancy to clients over time.
• Maintaining the highest standards of health, safety and professionalism.
• Representing Bradley Environmental Consultants to the highest standard on client sites.

What you will bring

We’re looking for a motivated individual who is passionate about starting a career in asbestos surveying and delivering excellent customer service.

You’ll ideally have:
