Bradley Environmental Consultants, part of the Vadella Group, is seeking a Trainee Asbestos Surveyor for field-based work in Blackpool. You will join our technical team and gain hands-on experience delivering asbestos surveying services across UK sites while working toward BOHS qualifications.

This is a full-time entry-level role offering comprehensive training, a competitive salary of £27,000 per year, and benefits including overtime opportunities and a clear pathway to professional

Qualifications

• No asbestos experience required; full training provided.
• Willingness to work toward BOHS P402, P403 & P404 qualifications.
• Interest in building compliance, health and safety or environmental services.
• Desire to learn HSG248/HSG264 practices and deliver client-focused advisory.
• Excellent communication and report writing skills.
• Attention to detail; team-oriented; adaptable to field work.

Responsibilities

• Assist experienced surveyors with Management, Refubishment and Demolition surveys per HSG264.
• Support asbestos reinspection surveys and audits.
• Learn air monitoring, four-stage clearance and analytical procedures per HSG248.
• Shadow supervision of licensed asbestos removal projects.
• Assist in producing accurate survey reports and documentation.
• Develop technical knowledge to provide professional client advice over time.
• Maintain high standards of health, safety and professionalism.
• Represent Bradley Environmental Consultants on client sites.

About the role

Working across a diverse range of commercial, industrial, healthcare, education and public sector sites, you’ll support our experienced surveying team in delivering professional asbestos surveying services, in line with current legislation and industry best practice, while working towards your BOHS qualifications.

This is a varied, field-based position where no two days are the same. You’ll work closely alongside experienced surveyors as part of a knowledgeable technical team, gaining hands‑on experience delivering high-quality services to clients across the UK.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Assisting experienced surveyors with Management, Refurbishment and Demolition Asbestos Surveys in accordance with HSG264.
• Supporting asbestos reinspection surveys and audits.
• Learning asbestos air monitoring, four-stage clearance and analytical procedures in accordance with HSG248.
• Shadowing supervision of licensed asbestos removal projects.
• Assisting with the production of accurate survey reports and technical documentation.
• Developing your technical knowledge to provide professional advice and consultancy to clients over time.
• Maintaining the highest standards of health, safety and professionalism.
• Representing Bradley Environmental Consultants to the highest standard on client sites.

What you will bring

We’re looking for a motivated individual who is passionate about starting a career in asbestos surveying and delivering excellent customer service.

You’ll ideally have:

• No previous asbestos experience necessary – full training provided.
• A willingness to work towards BOHS P402, P403 and P404 qualifications.
• An interest in building compliance, health and safety or environmental services.
• A strong desire to learn and develop technical knowledge of HSG248 and HSG264.
• Excellent communication and report writing skills.
• Great attention to detail.
• The ability to work well as part of a team and take direction from experienced colleagues.
• Good IT skills (Microsoft Teams experience beneficial but not essential).
• A flexible approach to working hours.
• A full UK Driving Licence.
• Willingness to undergo an Enhanced DBS check (paid for by the company).
