Job summary

Rethink Mental Illness is seeking a Trainee Advocate to support people in understanding their rights and expressing their views. You will work toward the Level 4 Independent Advocacy Practice Qualification with dedicated study time and supportive supervision.

The role involves non-statutory advocacy in community or care settings, travel across County Durham, and no prior advocacy qualification is required. Field-based with home-based calendar management.

Responsibilities

• Support people to understand their rights and options.
• Represent people’s views and preferences in advocacy.
• Manage own caseload and maintain accurate records.
• Travel across County Durham to client locations and trainings.
• Work within advocacy frameworks and safeguarding requirements.
