Who we are looking for

Our ACA/CTA apprenticeship programme is a fantastic opportunity for Graduates, who are looking to propel their career straight to become a Chartered Tax Accountant. If you do not meet the new criteria for the Level 7 funded apprenticeship programme, we will explore the commercial options for you to study. This will include full study support.

What the role involves
  • You will assist in the provision of corporation tax and business tax services to the firm’s business clients.
  • You will assist in the provision of personal tax services to clients including the preparation of personal tax returns.
  • You will develop and grow into a professional tax adviser.
  • You will actively support and work with other members of your team and the wider Firm.
  • This role is based in Blackburn.

As part of this programme, we will provide an apprenticeship study package towards the CTA/ACA, which includes study leave, and we will mentor you through your qualification journey.

We also provide a complementary range of internal training opportunities to ensure that you maximise your potential in areas such as becoming a trusted adviser, how to network, presentation skills etc with opportunities for progression around the firm.

We have 6 monthly reflect and act conversations to ensure your development is on track, with optional monthly 1-2-1s. You will also have a buddy and opportunity for a mentor.

We also encourage you to get involved in wider firm initiatives and have your say on how we can progress on our journey towards being the best North West firm of finance professionals.

Your Qualifications
  • It is essential you are educated to GCSE standard, with a Grade 5 or above in English and Maths.
  • You may also be educated or working towards relevant A-levels or BTEC. It would be beneficial if these were in subjects such as Accounting, Business Studies, Maths, Economics etc, however this is not essential.
  • We are also open to applications from Graduates, of relevant and none-relevant degrees, predicted or achieved a minimum grade classification of 2:1.

  • Assessment centres will be held on different dates during week commencing 16 February 2026.
  • The start date for this apprenticeship is Tuesday 1 September 2026.
