Cameo Consultancy Recruitment Ltd is recruiting for a trainee accountant to start a professional career in accountancy. The role offers full training and support while gaining hands-on experience with a variety of clients, with a clear pathway from AAT to ACA.

You will work 38.75 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8:30am–5:00pm, with a 45‑minute lunch break, in Banbury. Salary starts from National Minimum Wage and progresses with qualifications and experience.

Qualifications

• Pursuing or completed A Levels or Level 3 equivalent
• Interest in accountancy and finance
• Strong numerical and organisational skills
• Good attention to detail
• Basic IT skills including Excel and Word

Responsibilities

• Assisting with the preparation of accounts and financial information
• Supporting VAT returns, reconciliations and bookkeeping activities
• Preparing working papers and financial schedules
• Assisting with personal and corporation tax returns
• Updating accounting software and client records
• Supporting senior accountants with client work and queries
• Developing technical knowledge through professional study
• Full training and support will be provided

What We're Looking For

• GCSE Maths and English (Grade 5 or above)
• Currently studying towards, or have completed, A Levels or an equivalent Level 3 qualification (such as BTEC or T Level)
• The following would be advantageous but are not essential:
• Strong results in Maths, Business, Economics or Accounting
• Completion of, or progress towards, AAT Level 2
