Train Cleaner – Role and about you

As a Train Cleaner, you will be responsible for the full and deep cleaning of train interiors, ensuring they are spotless for passenger service. This is a hands‑on role which requires you to be physically fit and capable of lifting equipment weighing up to 26kg.

Your duties
  • Cleaning carriages from top to bottom, ensuring all key aspects are cleaned to top condition.
  • Wiping and sanitising all surfaces and touch points.
  • Hoovering and mopping floors.
  • Dusting and cleaning windows.
  • Cleaning and restocking toilets.
Schedule and hours

You roster/scheduled week of work will be on a Tuesday to Saturday basis, with working hours being 06:00 - 13:00.

Requirements

You are a motivated and reliable individual who takes pride in their work. You thrive in a physically demanding role and are prepared to work nights as part of a varied shift pattern. You must also be able to pass a full railway medical (including sight, hearing and colour vision tests) and a comprehensive drug and alcohol test.
