An organization promoting humanism in the UK is looking for school speakers to engage young people in discussions about humanist values. Successful candidates will come from various backgrounds, with a commitment to effective communication. Training courses are available for new applicants who are also encouraged to become members. This role aims to enhance understanding of humanism in schools.
Are you committed to a humanist approach to life? A good communicator? Enthusiastic about using your knowledge and personal experience to help young people learn about humanism?
If the answer is yes, then you could be a Humanists UK school speaker!
School speakers come from a wide range of backgrounds and life stages, and we aim to build a network of speakers as diverse as the school audiences we serve. We welcome applications from candidates of all backgrounds, particularly those currently under‑represented in education and in our network. At present, we are also interested to hear from applicants able to deliver talks in Welsh. If this training is not convenient for you, we will be organising further training courses in the coming months - dates of forthcoming courses are on the School Speaker Training page. If you have any questions, then please email schools.training@humanists.uk.
If you would like to attend the next free school speaker training course, please download the information pack and Code of Practice and complete the questions below.
Remember that courses are only open to members of Humanists UK, or people prepared to become members. We can only accept applicants who live in England, Wales, or Northern Ireland.
