Traffic Signal Engineer
We are seeking Engineers, Senior Engineers or Principal Engineers to join Yunex Traffic in launching cities into the future with forward‑looking infrastructure and transport solutions.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for Health & Safety and professional development of direct reports (where applicable).
- Deliver a wide range of traffic engineering projects across the UK to high standards, following national/local standards, guidance and best practice.
- Deliver projects following ergonomic, economic and sustainable principles.
- Assess and mitigate risks associated with traffic engineering projects.
- Travel to site visits, validations and customer meetings, including overnight stays where appropriate.
- Prepare technical reports and specifications.
- Technical checking/approval of traffic engineering schemes before delivery to customers.
- Prepare consultancy/design quotations.
- Project management and financial tracking.
Qualifications & Experience
- High level of communication skills, verbal and written, and ability to work collaboratively.
- Ability to solve complex traffic engineering problems and manage customer expectations.
Required Experience
- Technical, in‑depth understanding and proven track record of the following traffic engineering competencies:
- Traffic signal design fundamentals and UK standards/specifications.
- Traffic engineering software including AutoCAD, KeySignals and modelling software such as LinSig or Transyt.
- In‑depth knowledge of traffic signal products from across the industry.
- Experience with systems such as UTC or UTMC.
- Experience with adaptive control strategies such as SCOOT or MOVA, including setup and on‑site validation.
- Experience undertaking Factory and Site Acceptance Testing.
Educational Requirements
- HNC/HND/Degree level in engineering or a related subject is preferred or relevant experience.
