Job summary

Deliveroo PLC seeks experienced engineers to join the EU Traffic team in London, helping build a shared platform for DoorDash, Deliveroo, and Wolt. You’ll shape reliability and security across edge, ingress, and service mesh, collaborating across regions to support latency-sensitive workloads.

You will troubleshoot production issues, mentor teammates, and drive automation and AI-enabled improvements. The role is hybrid from London and reports to the EU-Traffic Engineering Manager.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a software engineer in infrastructure, networking, or platform engineering/SRE.
• Experience operating edge technologies at scale (CDN, WAF, proxies, DNS).
• Strong networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, HTTP, HTTP/2, gRPC, Load Balancing).
• Experience with AWS networking primitives and Kubernetes or similar container tooling.
• Familiar with service mesh technologies (Envoy, Istio, Linkerd) and xDS concepts.
• Experience building RPC frameworks or client-side networking libraries.
• Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) and GitOps tooling (ArgoCD, Helm, Atlantis).
• Track record of sharing prompts and AI-assisted tooling to accelerate teams.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, debug, and fix issues affecting production and SLA adherence.
• Collaborate with platform and product engineers to implement features.
• Improve team productivity through automation and AI tooling.
• Participate in a shared on-call rotation and lead incident investigations.
