Job summary

VTM Highway Services, based in Worcester, is seeking a capable CAD Technician to prepare safe, practical traffic-management drawings for a growing portfolio of projects. You will work with operations and contracts teams to produce plans for planned and short-notice works.

Key duties include creating traffic-management layouts, reviewing site information, updating drawings, and maintaining records. Training may be offered, with a competitive salary based on experience.

Qualifications

• Experience using AutoCAD or similar design software.
• Ability to produce clear and accurate technical drawings.
• Experience within traffic management, highways, utilities or civil engineering.
• Understand temporary traffic-management layouts and road-safety requirements.
• Organised, detail-focused and able to manage several drawings at once.
• Good communication with clients, coordinators and operations teams.

Responsibilities

• Producing and updating traffic-management drawings.
• Creating layouts for temporary signals, lane closures, road closures and diversions.
• Reviewing site information and identifying practical layout requirements.
• Amend drawings following client or operational feedback.
• Maintaining accurate drawing records and document versions.
• Supporting the operations team with clear information before works begin.
