Job summary

Morrisons in Tees Valley is seeking a hands-on Store Manager to lead trading routines and deliver market-leading product availability. You will supervise a team, plan promotions, and ensure safety, legality and readiness for trade across the store.

You’ll develop staff, manage rotas, training and attendance, and drive performance against targets. The role emphasizes customer service, stock availability and seamless operations, with opportunities for career progression within Morrisons'

Job description

Reporting directly to the Store Manager, you'll bring a hands-on approach to managing store-wide trading routines. You'll lead your team to deliver market-leading product availability, run smooth promotional events, and ensure every aisle is safe, legal, and ready for trade. In this role, you'll be on hand to:

• Put customers first: Lead your team to deliver outstanding shopping experiences, planning promotions and acting on customer feedback to keep standards high.
• Lead and support your team: Manage shift rotas, attendance, and talent development, delivering training so colleagues have the confidence to work flexibly across departments.
• Drive performance and availability: Lead a supportive, performance-driven department, guiding colleagues to work with purpose against all operational and sales targets.
• Keep operations running smoothly: Plan resources thoroughly, manage daily team routines, and build strong working relationships with other store departments., Whether your background is in retail, hospitality, leisure, or travel, if you care about great service and bringing out the best in people, you'll fit right in with us.

You’ll be the kind of person who:

• Leads and steps up with confidence: Has experience leading and supporting a team in a fast-paced environment, confidently running shifts and handling daily trading priorities. You'll be confident to step up as Manager in Charge when required.
• Builds strong, supportive teams: Communicates naturally, shares knowledge, and deals with everyday challenges calmly to keep the team working well together.
• Listens and adapts: Active listener who acts on customer and colleague feedback to make things better every shift, staying open and flexible to new ways of working.
• Keeps a firm grip on the basics: Takes a practical approach to managing department routines, keeping a close eye on safety, stock availability, and operational standards.
