Job summary

Sainsbury's is seeking a Trading Assistant to help keep shelves well-stocked and presented. You will collect stock from the warehouse, assist customers with questions, and build knowledge of promotions to recommend products.

In this fast-paced, physical role, you’ll work as part of a team across the store, supporting with deliveries and maintaining high standards. Training and development opportunities are provided.

Qualifications

• Must be able to lift up to 15 kg and handle stock as part of daily tasks.
• Able to thrive in a fast-paced retail environment and deliver excellent customer service.
• Willing to work flexibly across store shifts and learn new skills.

Responsibilities

• Collect stock from the warehouse using roll cages to replenish shelves.
• Provide first-rate customer service and answer questions to assist shoppers.
• Build product knowledge to make informed recommendations.
• Check date codes on fresh and grocery items for quality.
• Support across store operations and assist with deliveries as needed.

Job description

What you’ll be doing:

• Collecting stock from the warehouse using heavy roll cages (up to 15KG) to replenish items across the store, keeping our shelves tidy and full of well-presented products
• Always ready to serve our customers brilliantly, supporting with any questions, and proactively offering help
• Build great knowledge about our products, services and promotions to help provide recommendations
• Date checking fresh produce and grocery products
• Helping across the store as needed and supporting with deliveries as required

Eligibility:

• You must be above the school-leaver age in your country School leaving age - GOV.UK
• You must have Right to Work eligibility in the UK
• If the shifts for this role cover hours earlier than 6am or later than 11pm, you will need to be at least 18 years of age
