Job summary

  • Experience in a trade confirmation/settlement team focusing on equity, fixed income and unit trust asset classes.
  • Understanding of multi-asset trade booking and support.
  • Numeracy and attention to detail in a fast-paced office environment.
  • Ability to stay calm under pressure and work on own initiative.
  • Pro-active and forward thinking in communications with others.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure equity and FI trades are matched and settled on time; escalate issues as needed.
  • Initiate manual payments for trade settlement when required.
  • Verify and release Swift settlement instructions using Swift interface and Custodians.
  • Ensure bookings comply with internal and external requirements.
  • Review daily/monthly CSDR Settlement Discipline Rule reports.
  • Conduct daily reconciliation of SWX trades and related settlements.
  • Produce weekly/monthly reporting of Adonis controls and unsettled trades.
  • Manage client and stakeholder queries; liaise with partners to clarify settlement issues.
  • Apply department controls to minimise risks and improve service quality.
  • Collaborate to foster a positive and supportive team environment.

You would be joining our Trade Processing team to help ensure the timely and accurate booking of transactions and to ensure any issues or fails are pro-actively dealt with and resolved.

It's a fast-paced environment with an emphasis on meeting tight deadlines, and we continually strive to find ways to innovate and become better at what we do.

You will be flexible, creative and curious enough to take on a challenge, rather than tick off set tasks on a to-do list.

What you'll do
  • Ensure Equity and FI trades you are responsible for are matched and settled on time, following up and escalating issues as appropriate
  • Initiating manual payments for trade settlement where necessary
  • Verifying and releasing Swift settlement instructions using Swift interface and Custodians
  • Ensuring that all securities bookings comply with internal and external requirements
  • Daily/monthly review of CSDR - Settlement Discipline Rule Fine Reports
  • Daily transactions reporting reconciliation of Swiss Stock Exchange (SWX) trades.
  • Weekly/monthly reporting of facts, figures, Adonis controls & unsettled trade reporting
  • Managing client and stakeholder queries pro-actively, liaising with external and internal partners to clarify settlement issues with particular focus on quality and timeliness of communication
  • Utilising department controls and procedures honestly and effectively, taking steps to call out and minimise any risks
  • Suggesting, exploring and helping to implement ideas to save time and cost, reduce risk and improve service quality
  • Collaborating with others to help build a positive and supportive working environment
The knowledge, experience and qualifications you need
  • Previous experience gained within a trade confirmation/settlement team focussing on equity, fixed income and unit trust asset classes
  • An understanding of multi asset classes in terms of trade booking/support.
  • Strong aptitudes for numeracy and attention to detail in a fast paced office environment
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and work on your own initiative
  • An innovative approach to problem solving and analysis
  • Pro-active and forward thinking in communications with others
  • Good at analysing and solving problem with a strong handle on operational risk
  • Effective in managing your own time with ability to prioritise tasks appropriately
