Job summary

Plumbase Northampton is seeking a proactive Trade Counter Sales Advisor who will be at the heart of the site, building relationships with local tradespeople, quoting and managing accounts while shaping how the site grows.

You’ll own more than just serving customers, with autonomy to influence pricing, stock decisions and supplier relationships, and to drive new business through local outreach.

Qualifications

• Experience in a plumbing & heating or builders merchant environment.
• Confidently dealing with trade customers and building long-term relationships.
• Commercial mindset with awareness of margin, pricing and growth opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Serve trade and retail customers on the counter and build relationships that drive repeat business.
• Build quotes, manage orders and take ownership of customer accounts.
• Develop new business by engaging local tradespeople and bringing in new accounts.
• Re-engage dormant and low-spend customers to grow revenue.
• Collaborate with the Manager on pricing, stock decisions and supplier relations.
• Participate in trade events and local outreach to drive sales.
• Maintain strong product knowledge across plumbing and heating to advise customers.
• Support the wider operation including picking, packing and site efficiency.
