Job description

Responsibilities

• Providing legal advice on general trade compliance matters, keeping abreast of regulatory changes and ensuring the organization's policies and procedures align with applicable laws.
• Developing, implementing, and monitoring trade compliance programs, fostering a culture of integrity and ethical conduct within the organization.
• Serving as an advisory resource on sanctions matters, demonstrating experience in handling cases and providing sanctions advice autonomously.
• Reviewing and verifying trade documents, ensuring compliance with import / export regulations, classifying products for tariffs, and assisting with applications for export licenses / completing exporter registrations and other regulatory approvals.
• Providing export compliance support for Trade Compliance audits.

Minimum Qualifications

• 5+ years of post qualification experience within an in-house legal department or law firm supporting trade compliance initiatives.
• Sense of urgency combined with strong interpersonal skills and an ability to work both independently and cross functionally.
• Authorized to reside and practice law in the UK.
