Wilton Engineering is seeking a Backshift Trade Assistant for an immediate start on a long-term basis. You will support fabrication activities, follow strict HSE and quality procedures, and assist with assembly and machinery operation. Role requires competency in tack welding and crane/MEWP operation.

Working hours are backshift with on-call overtime as project demands; benefits include life insurance and sick pay. A BPSS check will be conducted requiring 3 years of employment history.

Formación

• BPSS check required with 3 years employment history.
• Ability to work independently or in a multi-discipline team.
• Competent in tack welding and crane/MEWP operation.

Responsabilidades

• Support trades with fabrication activities as outlined in training.
• Follow Health, Safety & Environment procedures and quality procedures.
• Tack weld fabricated parts in line with company spec.
• Assist with mechanical assembly.
• Operate saw.
• Grind materials as required.
• Guide overhead cranes and hoists when trained.
• Manage cables and keep area clean and safe.
• Operate Scissor Lift and Cherry Picker when trained.

We require a Backshift Trade Assistant for an immediate start on a long-term basis. Working closely with the fabrication management team and complying with all Health and Safety guidelines.

Role Responsibilities

Supporting trades with fabrication activities as outlined below and in line with training given.

• To work in accordance with WESL Health, Safety & Environment procedures, policies and standard working practices.
• To work in accordance with WESL Quality procedures, policies and standard working practices.
• Tack Welding fabricated parts in line with company spec.
• Assisting with mechanical assembly.
• Operating saw.
• Grinding.
• Guiding overhead cranes and hoists where trained for moving and assembling plates.
• Responsible for cable management, general good housekeeping in working area.
• Operating Scissor Lift and Cherry Picker where trained to do so.

Skills

• Training with Abrasive Wheels.
• Competent using grinders, rota broach and saw.
• Must be able to work independently or part of a multi-discipline team.
• Competent in tack welding.
• Competent in using overhead cranes and MEWP.
• £18.78 per hour Backshift
• £23.48 per hour Overtime 1 (Monday – Friday and 1st 4 hours Saturday) – project dependant
• 1530 hrs to 0130 hrs (Monday to Wednesday), 1530 hrs to 0100 hrs (Thursday).

A high standard of attention to detail is essential, as is the ability to work independently and as part of a team. As part of the process a Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS), check will be conducted; this will require proof of 3 years of employment history.
