Overview
  • The Company: A crop production business is currently seeking a Sprayer Tractor Operator to join their team.
  • The Job Role: The Sprayer Tractor Operator will work on the safe and effective application of agricultural pesticides in line with crop spray schedules.
  • Location: Northwest England
  • Salary Package: £35,000 to £40,000, depending on experience
Key Responsibilities for the Sprayer Tractor Operator
  • Work well with stakeholders
  • Keep accurate sprayer application records
  • Responsible for equipment, chemicals and correct procedures are followed; sprayer cleanliness, any repairs and maintenance and safe disposal of containers
  • Assess and identify any challenges, keep customer informed
  • Check cross compliance and legal standards are met
  • Ensure safe application of pesticides
  • Keep sprayer tickets up to date
Candidate Skills and Experience
  • Must have previous experience of operating tractors in an arable setting with ideally 3 years' minimum experience
  • Ideally hold Sprayer Tickets PA1, PA2, PA6; for the right candidate training can be provided
  • GPS System knowledge desirable
  • A working knowledge of chemicals and understanding of COSHH
  • A strong attention to detail and Health & Safety
  • Basic maintenance and understanding to look after tractors and machinery
  • High standards with cleaning out sprayers and containers
  • Ability to manage own workload, keep accurate records and spray sheet data
  • Flexibility to support with other jobs depending on the season
  • Ability to work effectively with all stakeholders and be competent at discussing other products and services
  • Experience of self-propelled crop sprayers desirable
