Job summary

Randstad CPE London is seeking a Track Maintenance Team Leader with COSS qualifications to oversee track maintenance teams on Reading routes. The role requires hands-on leadership, strong safety focus and the ability to coordinate with multiple railway disciplines to meet Network Rail standards.

The successful candidate will lead planned and reactive maintenance activities, deliver safety briefings and ensure safe systems of work are in place across the project.

Qualifications

• COSS and PTS certifications are required for field operations.
• Proven competency in track maintenance methodologies and safety practices.
• Ability to work under railway safety regulations and standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise track maintenance teams during planned and reactive activities.
• Act as Controller of Site Safety (COSS) when required and uphold safe systems of work.
• Deliver safety briefings and ensure staff understand risks, controls and site arrangements.
• Monitor track condition, manage defects and ensure quality of completed work.
• Coordinate with signalling, electrification, plant and other disciplines as needed.
• Mentor less‑experienced team members and promote a strong safety culture.
