Job summary

Network Rail in Tonbridge is looking for a Track Maintenance Operative to keep the railway safe and reliable for millions of daily journeys. You will perform essential track maintenance, inspections, and repairs across the network, travelling to sites as required and working outdoors in all weather conditions.

No rail experience? Training will be provided, and you will join a safety-conscious team dedicated to keeping passengers and freight moving.

Qualifications

• Team player with good communication and collaboration skills.
• Proactive, punctual and safety-aware in all tasks.
• Willing to learn new skills and adapt to railway environments.
• Full UK driving licence is required to travel to sites.

Responsibilities

• Repair and maintain track, inspections and repairs to keep the network safe.
• Travel to sites across different locations as maintenance needs arise.
• Work outdoors in all weather, day or night, maintaining safety standards.
• Support safe working practices and follow procedures.
• Assist with fault finding, inspections and emergency repairs when needed.
