Town Planner / Senior Planner

Location: Birmingham or Cardiff

An established and growing planning consultancy is looking to expand its team with the addition of a Town Planner or Senior Planner based in either Birmingham or Cardiff.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a driven planning professional with previous experience in a planning consultancy or local authority setting. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting a diverse portfolio of projects across the UK.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and manage planning applications, pre-application enquiries, and appeals
  • Draft and submit lawful development certificates
  • Advise on planning strategy across a range of development types
  • Work across various sectors including residential, retail, commercial, and mixed‑use schemes
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to deliver high‑quality planning services
About You
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in a planning consultancy or local planning authority
  • RTPI‑accredited degree (or equivalent)
  • Working towards or already MRTPI qualified (for Planner level); MRTPI status preferred for Senior Planner
  • Strong report writing, project management and communication skills
  • A proactive attitude and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
