Job summary

bbe Recruitment is seeking a Hands-On Toolroom Manager for a trade moulding company based in Derby. The full-time role runs 37.5 hours per week from Monday to Friday, combining practical tooling duties with toolroom leadership.

You will oversee day-to-day toolroom operations, coordinate repairs and insert changes, and liaise with external toolmakers and suppliers to ensure tooling performance for production.

Job description

We are currently recruiting for a Hands-On Toolroom Manager to join a trade moulding company based in Derby.

This is a full-time position working 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

The company has an internal toolroom that supports production within the mould shop. While tooling is not manufactured in-house, the toolroom is responsible for tool repair, refurbishment, insert changes, and the ongoing maintenance of production tooling.

This is a hands-on role that combines practical tooling responsibilities with the management and coordination of the toolroom function. Key responsibilities include:

• Managing the day-to-day operation and planning of the internal toolroom
• Supporting tool repair, refurbishment, maintenance, and insert changes
• Coordinating with external toolmakers and tooling suppliers
• Overseeing tooling manufactured in China
• Managing the introduction of new tooling into the business

Ideally you’ll have Supervised or Managed a Toolroom already, but Senior experienced Toolmakers with good people skills may also be considered for this role
