Job Overview

Working alongside our client, a leading injection moulding manufacturer, we are looking for a Toolmaker to support continued business growth.

Remit

Reporting to the Technical Director as a Toolmaker you will provide a key resource to the Production and Technician team.

  • The role of Toolmaker will involve working on prototype and production mould tools for the rubber and plastics industry alongside associated ancillary equipment and jigs.
Responsibilities
  • Manage the modification & repair of tools internally and with external toolmakers where required (including strip, clean and servicing of tools)
  • Manage critical spares and ensure stock levels are maintained.
  • Complete strip-down and servicing of complex injection moulds
  • Work closely with the Technical and Operations team to improve efficiency and processes
  • Provide manageable timescales to relevant employees on any work being completed
  • Provide solutions to prevent reoccurring damage to certain tools
  • Manage workload independently and with the Technical Director accordingly allowing for subcontract work when required
  • Complete annual tooling reviews for Automotive products
Experience Requirements
  • Experience in toolmaking or high precision machining, mould toolmaking experience would be a distinct advantage
  • HNC in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent qualification
  • Experience with relevant workshop tools and equipment such as lathes, CNC milling, grinders, welding and EDM spark erosion.
  • Qualified with experience of using overhead cranes
  • Competent in communication both on the telephone and emails
  • Resilient, reliable, and determined.
  • Mature, hard-working with a keen attention to detail and willingness to get involved.
