Overview

Job Title: Toolmaker. Location: Sheffield. Type: Permanent. Industry: Technical and Engineering. Salary: £40,000 per annum + O/T + excellent company benefits.

Workchain is currently seeking a Toolmaker to join our client in Sheffield on a permanent basis. Immediate interviews and starts are available.

We are seeking a reliable and experienced Toolmaker. Reporting to the Toolroom Supervisor, the ideal candidate will be working as part of a team supporting the manufacturing department with tooling solutions.

Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and resolve issues related to piercing and forming in multistage progressive stamping tools promptly.
  • Collaborate with NPI and tool design teams to ensure new tooling is feasible, effective, and optimised for production.
  • Respond swiftly and effectively to urgent tooling issues.
  • Liaise with production management to provide accurate updates on tooling conditions.
  • Identify, analyse, and implement corrective actions to tooling problems.
  • Support teams by providing input for 8D investigations and internal quality issues.
Experience / Qualifications
  • Experience with high speed, multistage progressive stamping tools, experience in tool design collaboration and tooling optimisation, and the ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Hours of work: Monday to Thursday, rotating shifts; Week 1: 6.00am – 2.30pm; Week 2: 1.30pm – 10.30pm. Overtime is available during busy periods.
  • The starting salary is £40,000 per annum, with excellent company benefits.
