Overview

Role: Toolmaker

Location: Tamworth

Hours: 42 hours per week (day shift)

Pay: £35,000 - £38,868

Responsibilities
  • Operate, maintain, and repair tool room machinery and production tooling, including manufacturing new tools and parts from drawings or existing components.
  • Respond promptly to tooling breakdowns, troubleshoot production issues, and support maintenance operations to minimize disruptions.
  • Uphold high standards of workmanship, contribute to continuous improvement, and carry out general machinery-related tasks safely and efficiently.
  • Maintain a clean, safe working environment, adhering to Health & Safety policies and departmental principles of Time, Ability, and Safety.
Essential Experience
  • Demonstrated experience in toolmaking or precision engineering
  • Proficient in operating and maintaining tool room machinery
  • Capable of interpreting and working from technical drawings
  • Familiarity with the repair and modification of extrusion and mould tools
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, production-led environment
  • Understanding of health and safety practices relevant to an engineering workshop
