A manufacturing company in Essex is seeking a Tooling Proposals Engineer responsible for liaising with clients and overseeing the design and manufacture of tooling. Ideal candidates will have a strong technical understanding of injection moulding and experience in client-facing roles. The position offers a salary of £40,000 - £42,000, a company car, and a 10% commission scheme, along with a pension plan.

Our client has a 50-year trading history designing, developing and providing the highest quality plastic mouldings for customers in the medical, scientific and numerous other industrial sectors.
The business employs 60 staff with a £6 million turnover and typically commissions £½ million of new tooling each year.
Due to succession planning the business is in the market for a Tooling Proposals Engineer who will be responsible for taking incoming enquiries for new business, and through working closely with customers, toolmakers and the internal manufacturing team convert these enquiries into orders.
The role of Tooling Proposals Engineer will be responsible for liaising with new and recurring clients and acting as a conduit between them and the Toolmaking department to ensure the tooling design, manufacture and sale is successful.
Clients will come to the Tooling Proposals Engineer with a new product for manufacture for which new tooling must be designed and manufactured (could be multiple tools for larger orders). After an understanding of the tooling requirements are gained from the CAD design provided by the client, the following processes will be followed:
