Job summary

A specialist manufacturing facility in Northampton is seeking an experienced Injection Moulding Toolmaker / Tooling Engineer to manage tools and improve efficiency. The ideal candidate has experience with injection mould tools and relevant workshop skills. This role offers a salary of up to £45,000 along with various benefits including life insurance and a company pension.

Responsibilities

  • Managing the modification and repair of tools.
  • Providing solutions to prevent reoccurring damage.
  • Working closely with the Technical and Operations team.
  • Complete strip-down and servicing of complex injection moulds.
  • Completing annual tooling reviews.

Job description

Due to continued growth, a specialist manufacturing facility with over 50 years' experience providing end-to-end manufacturing solutions to the plastics industry, is seeking an experienced Injection Moulding Toolmaker / Tooling Engineer.

Package: Up to £45,000 · Monday-Friday days · Life insurance · Company pension · Training and development opportunities · Option to increase annual leave by up to 5 days

Reporting to the Technical Director, the successful candidate will play a key role within the Production and Technical teams, looking after prototype and production mould tools for the rubber and plastics industry, as well as associated ancillary equipment and jigs.

Responsibilities
  • Managing the modification and repair of tools with internal and external toolmakers where required.
  • Provide solutions to prevent reoccurring damage to certain tools.
  • Work closely with the Technical and Operations team to improve efficiency and processes.
  • Complete strip-down and servicing of complex injection moulds.
  • Complete annual tooling reviews.
Qualifications
  • Have experience in a similar role with a good knowledge of injection mould tools.
  • Be skilled with all relevant workshop tools and equipment such as lathes, CNC milling, grinders, welding and EDM spark erosion.
  • Be competent in communication both on the telephone and emails.
  • Be mature, hard-working with a keen attention to detail and willingness to get involved.
