Job summary

CS Technical Staffing Ltd is seeking an experienced Tooling Design Engineer for the Gaydon, Warwickshire area to support production tooling solutions.

The role involves translating engineering requirements into robust tooling designs, ensuring manufacturability, and collaborating with suppliers and cross-functional teams. The position is a contract through an umbrella or PAYE, funded until March 2027, with 40 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in Tooling Design Engineering.
• Strong CAD capabilities (CATIA preferred, equivalent packages considered)
• Detailed understanding of GD&T
• Design for Manufacture experience
• Knowledge of: Die casting, Injection moulding, Machining, Pressing and stamping processes, Painting and associated manufacturing techniques
• Understanding of fixing methods, bolted joint calculations and adhesive force calculations
• Experience with FMEA and quality problem-solving tools such as 8D, FMEDA or Fault Tree Analysis
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of work packages

• Design of jigs and fixtures for assembly operations
• Tooling verification, testing and sign-off activities
• Supporting issue investigation and resolution with suppliers

Rate: £35.80ph via an Umbrella Company (Inside IR35) or £26.68ph on a PAYE basis

Employment Type: Contract (Currently financed until March 2027)

Hours: Standard 40 Hours Per Week

The Opportunity

We're looking for an experienced Tooling Design Engineer with a strong background in tooling and manufacturing processes to support the design, development, validation and delivery of production tooling solutions.

You will be responsible for translating engineering requirements into robust tooling designs, ensuring manufacturability, supporting design verification activities and collaborating with suppliers and cross-functional engineering teams.
