Job summary

GAP Group is seeking a hands-on Small Tools Fitter (Tool Mechanic) to service and repair our fleet of small tool equipment. You’ll diagnose faults, perform maintenance, and keep service records accurate to ensure equipment is safe and ready for customers.

In this role you’ll work within GAP’s Plant & Tool division, bringing practical mechanical skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to a business that prides itself on growth and employee development.

Qualifications

• Mechanical experience in a hands-on role, preferably within hire or service environments.
• Experience with petrol and electrical tools is advantageous.
• Attention to detail and the ability to stay calm under pressure.
• Customer-focused mindset with good teamwork.
• Full driving licence is preferred but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Service and maintain a wide range of small tool equipment in the GAP fleet.
• Diagnose faults and complete repairs to minimise downtime.
• Keep accurate service records and ensure safety standards are met.
• Support the depot team to ensure equipment availability and customer satisfaction.
