Job summary

Airbus S.A.S. in Filton is seeking a Tolerance Analyst to deliver dimensional variation management across multiple aircraft programs.

You will interact with design, stress, aerodynamics, manufacturing and quality teams to ensure tolerancing supports performance and cost-effective production. The role requires an engineering degree in Mechanical or Aerospace, and familiarity with ISO tolerances and 1D/3D stack-ups; CATIA experience is advantageous.

Qualifications

  • Engineering degree ideally in Mechanical or Aerospace.
  • Knowledge of ISO tolerances annotation, 1D/3D stack-up is a plus.
  • Experience with CATIA is beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate across engineering design, stress, aerodynamics, manufacturing and quality.
  • Provide tolerancing solutions from R&T through production.
  • Work with DFEM/Aerodynamics to ensure accurate tolerancing deliverables.
  • Balance high performance with cost-effective manufacturing.
  • Share expertise with other divisions (Helicopters/Space) for optimal production compromises.
  • Develop specialist skills and understand aircraft development steps.

Job description

SECURITY CLEARANCE: You will be subject to BPSS and Export Control checks (including a criminal record check).

The Tolerance Analyst is part of the growing Transnational Airframe Tolerancing team within the Airbus Engineering function. He/She provides specialised Tolerancing (dimensional variation management) solutions for all Airbus programmes (A220, Single Aisle, A330, A350, A380 and A400M), as well as for research programs, new technologies, new aircraft concepts and innovative industrial systems.

HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE TO THE TEAM
  • Collaborating across engineering design, stress, aerodynamics, manufacturing, and quality departments within a global digitalized environment.
  • Providing insight into the airframe journey from the initial R&T phase through to production, interacting directly with Final Assembly Lines and flight testing teams.
  • Working in concert with complex design principles and tools like DFEM and Aerodynamics to ensure the tolerancing deliverable supports the overall solution.
  • Applying appropriate tolerancing solutions to achieve the best balance between high performance and cost-effective manufacturing.
  • Offering expertise to other divisions, including Helicopters and Space, to reach optimal compromises in production and manufacturing.
  • Contributing to a global environment while developing specialist skills and gaining a comprehensive understanding of the aircraft market and development steps.

Educated to an Engineering degree ideally in Mechanical / Aerospace

Knowledge of ISO Tolerances annotation, 1D and 3D stack-up, MECAMASTER/3DCS tool would be a plus

Experience in Computer Aided Design, CATIA would be a plus

Knowledge on KCnT Airbus tool would be a plus

Experience in manufacturing would be a plus

Project management skills would be a plus
