Job summary

Royal Surrey NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Band 6 Tissue Viability Nurse to cover a 13‑month fixed term maternity leave. The post focuses on wound management, skin integrity and evidence‑based practice, with education and support for healthcare professionals, patients and carers.

You will work within the Tissue Viability Team to assess complex wounds, deliver training, and contribute to audits and quality improvement across our acute and community services in Guildford and surrounding sites.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with current NMC registration.
• Experienced in wound management and pressure ulcer prevention.
• Committed to evidence-based practice and improving patient outcomes.
• Strong communication with interpersonal and teaching skills.
• Ability to work both independently and in a specialist team.
• Committed to ongoing professional development.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist advice and support related to tissue viability and wound care.
• Assess, plan and evaluate care for patients with complex wound care needs.
• Support prevention and management of pressure ulcers and other skin integrity concerns.
• Deliver education and training to clinical staff across the organisation.
• Contribute to audits, investigations and quality improvement programmes.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to promote best practice and positive patient outcomes.
• Monitor and evaluate clinical standards relating to tissue viability.
